An incredible flight of 28 Palmer, 48 Cheval Blanc and 58 Latour was the highlight of this fabulous ROPP hosted by Dr. Desai at Cut in November 2018. The 48 Cheval was my WON (wine of the night); although the 47 Cheval is supposedly the legendary Cheval, wine geeks know that the 48 (and 49 too) is more consistantly great than the 47 — I have had many MANY more great 48s than 47s (most of which are NG). Other highlight of the night was a flight of La Grand Rue, including the first wine made at this legendary property in 1959 (the vineyard is a narrow plot squeezed in between Romanee Conti and La Tache). This was one of the most interesting flights of wine I have experienced in a long time. CUT by Wolfgang Puck did a wonderful job with the food — I especially loved the lobster dish (see menu below) which was paired with two surprisingly delicious Montrachets from Marc Colin — 88 and 90 — very rare stuff, indeed. Honorable mention goes to the 2008 Cristal, which we started with (along with the 2009, which I found to be much too acidic for my taste):
