1996 Crustal Rose: fantastic champagne. 1952 Leroy Bonnes Mares/1955 Leroy Mazi-Chambertin: 1955 Chambertin was and still is the greatest wine Leroy has ever made. This bottle was great and took the night from a very nice bottle of 52 Bonnes. 1990 DRC RSV/1990 DRC Richebourg: both bottles were wonderful, but this is a fantastic Richebourg and has more complexity and layers than the RSV. 1969 DRC La Tache/1989 DRC La Tache: Again, two great bottles, but this particular case of 69 is stellar (this is the third bottle I have had from this case) — the 89, while not known to be a great La Tache, was surprisingly good. 2010 Coche Dury Meursault Perrieres: a very forward bottle, which means I really liked it — not liked, loved — one of the best Coche Perrieres I have had. 1982 Mouton/1982 Latour: the Latour is finally drinkable — early on the Mouton always won, simply because it was more approachable then the then monolithic Latour – this is no longer the case and the 82 Latour has emerged as the wine of the vintage. 1983 Guigal La Mouline: although by this time I was seeing stars, this is a killer La Mouline and this was a great bottle — after the 78 and 66, this might be my third favorite Mouline – at least the way this bottle was drinking…
MARINO: Chef Sal has been doing wine dinners with us for many many years, and when you go to his family restaurant Marino, it is like your pal is in the kitchen cooking for you at his house. High recommend you check Marino out if you have not been.
